Basic Needs Basic Rights Kenya and the Ministry of Health welcome

Health Learning Summit titled Rising Above Stigma taking place

person and hybrid attendance. (More instructions for how to sign
up in person can be found on http://mentalheathsummitke.basic
needskenya.org/.)
Basic Needs Basic Rights Kenya will share lessons learnt from their
youth anti stigma initiative titled Speak Up an initiative funded by
Comic Relief and FCDO Mental health stigma is a major barrier to
human rights and recovery across Kenya, Africa and globally. Deep
rooted stigma harms young people living with mental health
problems, their families and communities as well as wider society
and economy: Stigma prevents people studying, working,
volunteering, caring and contributing to our societies. The summit
aims to create an avenue to look into the progress thus far in youth
anti stigma initiatives both regionally and globally. We hope to share
and deliberate on learnings from theseinitiatives, and inform future
interventions backed by evidence.
